MLCKP2022-026 :: VAIDEHI PATHAK
I am a self taught, lockdown artist. My art journey began from 24th April 2020 with a simple drawing of fish. Till then i had never heard anything about Mithila art. Never in my wildest dreams I had imagined I would try my hands on it as i wasn’t an artist or even close to becoming one!
Google and pinterest came to my rescue. I kept practising from these sites with no one to guide. That was my trial and error phase.
By observing amazing paintings of extremely talented and helpful artists in a painting group, I got to learn a lot of things like discipline, neatness, finishing and even taking right pictures, to name a few.
Last year I did one month online workshop on Madhubani painting.
Mithila art is now my hobby turned into passion. From a humble ball pen to using brushes and now traditional nib pen, from kids leftover sketch book pages to using canvas, from sketch pens to acrylic colours, i have come a long way.
Since two months I am training under State award winner Artist Shri Abdhesh Kumar Karn Sir.
This is my first participation in a contest.
